Showboating Leaves Lindsey Jacobellis's Boat Sunk

So Lindesy Jacobellis is in the perfect poition to win the gold medal in snowboard cross. You'd think that she would take in with open arms but since she is an American she decides that she wants to do a cool little grab, BUT SHE FALLS!!! This girl has to literally hop to the finish line and settle for second. But the wors part of it all is that in the interview she says, "I'd been having trouble with that jump all day; the wind was catching me weird, I tried to grab it to try to stabilize myself in the air and it didn't work." So after she fell she act like it was no big deal that she cost her country a gold medal! Well i hope that she has learned a HUGE lasson, don't count your chickens before thay hatch. AND NO MORE SHOWBOATING!!! You can read some more of her excuses at the Tennessean.

Annapolis

I went and saw Annapolis last weekend, and even though it didn't get the best reviews I still LOVED it. Now, maybe I'm a little biased because I want to go to the Academy, but no matter. Oh, and one more thing if the Navy ever needs more applicants start getting more women like Jordana Brewster in the Navy.

Jake Huard, a ship yard worker from across the river from the Academy gets an invite to come to the Navy from a commanding officer. Jake accepts but when he arrives at the Academy he is a bit overwhelmed. So just to make things a little more challenging a seinor, Lt. Cole, in his company decides to ride his butt 'till Jake quit or he graduated. Lucky for Jake Lt. Cole graduated, but not before he got to get in the ring with Jake at the biggest boxing tournament in the Navy, The Brigades. In the final round Jake starts to beat up on Lt. Cole and he almost knocked him out. In the end it came to a tie that the officers had to decide who won. Unfortunately Jake lost but at the end of the fight the Lieutenant knew that Jake should have won. By the way you might expect a sequal. :)

Do you really know what happened to the Challenger?

We all think that we know what happened about twenty years ago to the Challenger shuttle, but there may be some things that you may not know. You know how they told you that the Challenger you saw explode was live, well it wasn't. It was actually a taped relay of the real thing. Some of the stations added sound effects to make it sound like it exploded when it really just ripped apart. Another myth that you may not have known is that the astronauts did not die when the ship tore apart. They died about two minutes later when the part with them it it fell back down to Earth after falling for 12 miles even though they may have been out cold they were still alive. The Challenger anniversery is just an example that space travel is not with out danger.

Tennessee Tanks Gators

Oooh, boy how 'bout them Vols. Tennessee downed the No. 2 gators in a surprising victory of 80 to 76. And where would UT be without Chris Lofton and his hot hand. Lofton with 29 points is a sophmore out of Maysville Kentucky. Another helpin' hand in the win was the crowd. It was the biggest crowd for men's basketball in Thompson-Boling Arena in a long, long time. It was just an amazing show of what Bruce Pearl can do.

AFC/NFC Championships

Man, hated to see the Colts lose last week. I really thought this was their year, but you move on. At least my Panthers are still in the hunt. Now I know that the Seahawks have Shaun Alexander, but Steve Smith and Jake Delhome aren't gonna be stopped. This should be an amazing game with two amazing teams. Watch out Super Bowl XL the NFC is ready to rock it.

Now, on to the AFC. I am pretty indifferent to either of these teams but, if I had to choose, even though they beat the Colts, I'd have to go with Pittsburg. The sole reason being that I absolutely love the blitz, and they have the best in the league. You can check out a great story on the Steelers at www.nfl.com. Thats all for now but I'll. be updating you if anything new comes in.
